Eagle Eye Technologies LLC is a systems integrator providing automation and controls to clients in industries such as Agriculture, Food & Beverage, Water & Wastewater, and more. One example of warehouse temperature monitoring an control is avocado ripening rooms. Avocados are picked before fully ripe to enable shipping to hungry customers throughout the world. Once picked, they're shipped and stored in temperature controlled environments to delay ripening and ensure freshness. The end customers, however, want ripe fruit. To satisfy both demands, avocado distributors use ripening rooms to prepare the fruit for the final trip to grocery store shelves.

When temperature must be monitored and controlled, the X-410 is an ideal choice. It supports up to 16 1-wire temperature sensors, has 4 digital inputs for door monitors or other sensors, and has 4 relays for controlling coolers, heaters, fans, vents, and more.
For temperature monitoring on a bank of coolers, small rooms, or many points within the same large space, the X-405 is a great choice. It supports up to 16 1-wire temperature sensors with smart alarming functionality.

The short answer is it depends. Each warehouse is unique. Refrigerant systems differ. HVAC systems are custom built for each building based on the needs and budget at the time of installation. Ultimately, our role is to provide reliable monitoring and control hardware. To better answer how many sensors you need, it would be best to hire a consultant or engineering firm that can do a study.
Alternatively, since we provide such and affordable system, you can do your own study by installing sensors throughout to look for problem areas, temperature gradients, etc.
Our sensors are digital temp sensors and come with a factory calibration that is designed to last for life. You may calibrate them on a regular basis if you choose, but they don't require calibration for most applications.
The temperature range on most our temperature sensors is -67°F to 257°F (-55°C to 125°C). This is suitable for most temperature monitoring applications, includeing freezer and refrigerator applications.
Most ControlByWeb modules have an alarm delay function, which will send a temperature alarm if the value is above or below a specified value for a specific amount of time. A second method common in pharmaceutical and other applications would involve adding thermal mass to the temperature sensor, such as putting the sensor in a vial with non-toxic antifreeze.
Unlike other refrigerator or freezer monitoring systems, ControlByWeb modules use standard networking equipment and do not require an additional gateway device. A full kit will include the monitoring/control module, the sensor(s), the power supply, and relevant mounting accessories.
You do not need a cloud subscription, but you can certainly add our cloud to make monitoring easier. Our modules are built to be stand-alone devices with on-board logic. To enable remote access, you have two options: use port forwarding or purchase a cloud subscription. The ControlByWeb cloud is an optional add-on to make access easier, but you can still monitor your warehouse temperature remotely without it.
Multiple temperature and/or humidity sensors can be connected to most ControlByWeb devices that have a 1-Wire bus for temperature/humidity monitoring.

Any 400-Series controller can act as a central device that can pull sensor data for other ControlByWeb devices on the network, or on other remote networks using a standard networking practice known as port forwarding.
