Remote Temperature Monitoring Systems
ControlByWeb’s temperature modules provide an accurate way to remotely monitor temperatures over an IP network. WiFi temperature sensors and Ethernet temperature sensors are both available depending on your project needs. The modules can be used for environmental temperature monitoring systems and simple control. Multiple temperature sensors can be connected, and certain models also have relays that can be used for control.
Our temperature modules are fully configured in minutes using a web browser. There is no monthly subscription, and no additional software needed.
Our one-wire compatible controllers can be used with our sensors when looking for temperature and humidity control or a similar solution.
Setup Temperature Alert Emails
Configure the modules to send email messages when a preset temperature is reached.

Log Temperature Data
Log temperature data over time and send log files via email or FTP at preset intervals.
Control Relays Based on Temperature Sensor Data
Our temperature modules provide remote temperature monitoring and remote relay control using a standard web browser. These relays can control devices such as alarm signals, heaters, fans, etc.
Send Temperature Data via API
ControlByWeb’s temperature monitoring modules can easily send sensor data to third-party software, control systems, or PLCs using XML or Modbus TCP/IP.

Temperature/Humidity FAQs
The 1-Wire bus connects ControlByWeb modules to compatible temperature and humidity sensors using just three wires: power, ground, and data. It allows multiple sensors to be daisy-chained on a single input.
ControlByWeb supports sensors like the X-DTHS-P (temp + humidity), DS18B20 (temp only), and X-TC (thermocouple transmitter). Sensors must follow the 1-Wire protocol and be approved for use with ControlByWeb modules.
Up to 16 sensors or 8 temperature/humidity sensors per 1-Wire bus, depending on the cable length, power supply, and sensor type. For best performance, use short, high-quality cables and proper termination.
Yes. You can mix supported sensor types (e.g., DS18B20 and X-DTHS-P) on the same bus, and the module will auto-detect and display each sensor’s data individually.
Modules like the X-410, X-420, X-405 and X-406 include a 1-Wire bus input for direct sensor connections.
Typically, up to 300-400 feet is safe. For extending temperature sensors, we recommend CAT5e wire. For more information on extending temperature sensors, visit our support section.
Sensor values (temperature and/or humidity) are shown in the web interface, where you can also assign labels, view real-time readings, log historical data, or trigger control logic.
Yes. You can configure sensors to control relays, send alerts, or act as conditions in Task Builder logic — e.g., turn on a fan if temperature exceeds a threshold.
No. The module automatically detects connected sensors and lists their unique IDs. You can assign friendly names for easier identification.
