How do I enable logging?

Logging can be easily accessed in your device’s settings. Logging is disabled by default and will need to be enabled for logging to begin. This method is slightly different between the 400 Series devices and the X-600M.

To enable logging on the X-400:

When accessing your device through your browser, logging can be enabled through the “Logging” tab.

  1. On the left, click the “Logging” tab.
  2. In the “General Logging Settings”, Select Yes next to “Enable Logging”.
  3. Change any additional details, such as Start Time, Interval, or Power Up State.
  4. Below, in the “Log I/O” section, click the checkbox on each I/O that you want logged.
    • Selecting the Log checkbox – The I/O endpoint will be logged based on the time interval you input above.
    • Selecting Trigger Log Event checkbox – The I/O endpoint will be logged whenever the state or value changes, or a continuous value changes beyond the amount listed in the Delta.
    • Delta – The Delta is the amount a continuous value reading, such as a temperature or analog input, would need to change before the log is triggered.
  5. Click the blue “Submit” button at the bottom of the page

Scheduled and conditional tasks can also include logging actions for more specific logging per I/O. More information about logging can be found on page 118 for Logging and page 100 for the Control/Logic Tab section of the 400 Series user’s manual.

To enable logging on the X-600M:

When accessing your device through your browser, logging can be enabled through the “Logging” tab. With the X-600M, you can create 5 logs with 20 I/O endpoints each.

  1. On the left, click the “Logging” tab.
  2. Click Add New Log on the right side of the page.
  3. In the popup window, change or add any necessary details, such as the Location, Log Interval, and Start Time.
  4. Click on the I/O in the “System I/O and Registers” that you want to log, then click the right facing arrows to move them into the “Logged I/O and Registers”.
  5. Once finished, click the Add button at the bottom of the window.
  6. When you’re finished adding logs, click the red Commit Changes button in the top right corner of the page.

Conditional and calendar events can also include logging actions for more specific logging per I/O. More information about logging can be found on page 81 for Logging and page 67 for the Control/Logic Tab of the X-600M user’s manual.
